Auckland Wooden Boat Festival

The HYC team had a great time providing “have a go” opportunities at the Auckland Wooden Boat Festival. In true Hobsonville style, we made do in the absence of an appropriate trailer and arrived by sea, our small fleet comprising one Quest and two Optis towed by a RIB.

Vice Commodore Hamish had a boat on display, the small but mighty classic tug Te Hauraki. She made a great home base and storage facility for the HYC crew.

Although rising winds meant we had to close up shop early both days, we were able to take a fair few curious festival attendees out for a sail in Jellicoe Harbour. A big thank you to all involved, and to the Auckland Wooden Boat Festival for having us along.
